Fighting Friction

12/29/2022

Limbic Friction.

The battle between the limbic system and prefrontal cortex. Between our primitive self and our rational decision making self.

The battle between the we know we should do something and the we don't want to. Between the doing something vs not doing it.

  • Getting up vs pressing snooze.
  • Making our bed vs doing it later.
  • Reading a book vs checking social media.
  • Working out vs anything else.
  • Sitting silently vs grabbing our phone.

We'll never regret the former but we often viscerally feel the latter.

Fighting friction is cumulative. And falls in line with the Matthew Effect.
